Three months had passed since Cloverstar's death. StarClan had been silent throughout the events of the Coven and ShadowClan had been uninvited to that battle. Lionstar had assured him that should she and WindClan need their aid in the battle for the Warrior Code she would come to retrieve him and his warriors. But she had not. Silence had filled the boarder between Clans and he had not been informed of anything. At the gathering, Thicketstar learned that the Coven had been dealt with and although Lichenstrike had been very brave in the battle, she had stepped down as deputy and Yarrowheart had replaced her. Although Thicketstar had no say in how the other Clans were run, he had found it odd that three deputies in a row (including Lionstar herself) had been quite young. Had it been Thicketstar's job to appoint a follower in Lionstar's position, he would have chosen an older cat that knew how to be a leader. But to each their own - it was not his decision. Thicketstar sat at the edge of the ShadowClan boarder. The Thunderpath was a terrifying place for most cats but if you knew how to respect the path it did more harm then good. It stopped other Clans from invading and it gave ShadowClan warriors a familiarity with things out of their control. The ShadowClan the Thicketstar had been leading was a different one then Littlefang or Coalheart or even Cloverstar had led and he was proud of that. He had bade amends with ThunderClan and he even went as far as to say he had made friends with Lionstar. But he was unsure of where RiverClan lay and what sort of a leader Russetstar would be. He decided that at the next gathering, he would speak with the RiverClan leader and determine a day they could meet in fourtrees to discuss the future of their Clans. But for now that was a thought for a later day. The long-furred leader looked over the silent thunderpath, a soft breeze moving his fur around him. Sometimes it was nice to just sit and think.
