Rowanblaze sat perched upon the lowest branch of the Great Sycamore with his paws folded neatly beneath him. His eyes were closed as he absorbed some of the sunlight that filtered down to him through the canopy of vividly saturated leaves, speckling his rust colored pelt green and white. The tom was quite comfortable here. This was his favorite spot within the forest and he was taking a little time to rest after his early morning hunt; the three squirrels he'd successfully caught were hung in a row across the branch that extended before him. Each had been picked from the tree tops by the tom who, as he was known to do, had spent the whole of his day leaping from tree limb to tree limb in search of food. There were few dangers among the Maple and Sycamore leaves while many forms of prey flocked there. It would be foolish of him not to utilize this great food source for the benefit of his clan His ear flicked slightly as a fly drew close, but the insect apparently had no interest in the affairs of the feline and left just as quickly as it had arrived. A breeze picked up slightly and Rowanblaze opened his striking emerald eyes as the leaves rustled above his head and around him, casually noting the clouds beginning to crowd in the sky. Perhaps they'd get an afternoon shower that day. He didn't particularly like getting wet, but rainfall always brought out the prey that enjoyed munching on the worms who were soon to emerge after the clouds drift away. Maybe I should focus on other things besides hunting today. It seems to be a growing into fixation and I can't neglect the other aspects of my duties. He thought with a sigh. He hadn't done much other than hunt the last two days and though he brought in plenty of prey, there were other things to do. Patrols still had to be run, apprentices trained (though he didn't have his own, he liked to assist others with theirs if they desired), and battle practice to be participated in. Leave that stuff alone for too long and it was bound to come back and nip him in the rear. He sighed audibly. A few more minutes and he'd take his catch back to the camp and inquire about other tasks he could do. Who knows? Perhaps they'd tell him to keep it up in the end and send him right back out to the trees. "Speech."
